Bob Damberger of "Prairie Wind Welding" is the inventor of this new type of ever lasting wind indicator. Bob has been involved in Canada's booming oil and gas industry since 1978.
In his early years he was in charge of operations and maintenance of sour plants. Bob tells us:"For safety reasons the windsocks had to be in working order and visible at all times. Depending on environmental conditions the fabric socks lasted from a year to only two months. The textile of the longer lasting socks usually faded out and was barely visible. With the help of our suppliers we tried to source a more dependable fabric, to no avail."
Bob then came up with the idea of experimenting with a reliable rigid steel windsock. Wind speed indication is never a factor in this application. Wind direction, however, is crucial. Over time Bob has perfected his design, which now has design patents in Canada and the US. The "Windicator.®" requires no maintenance, does not fade and has a limited lifetime warranty.
"It is one less thing the operations managers and maintenance crews have to worry about. Most importantly it increases the safety for people working around the wells and production facilities. I also know it makes the finance people happy because there is no maintenance or replacement cost, in other words the ROI is very high."
In 2012 Logan And Colleen Wainwright Purchased Prairie Wind Welding From The Dambergers and now operate a Manufacturing Facility in the heart of alberta, canada's oil and gas center. At prairie wind welding we look forward to meeting your needs for wind direction safety! Wether it be a"Windicator.®" or a customized design, we have the ability to get the job done.
